ever-changing battle between organization, function and well......style. That is until, I read this blog post from my bloggy friend Carisa. Carisa is a retired preschool teacher turned homeschooling mom, and she shared her amazing way of keeping track of all her school supplies. You will love her site by the way!
piece (yes, $60 total). It was quite an expense for our budget, but it's the one thing I can't believe I was ever without! No more craft buckets on top of the entertainment center, or in hallway closests. Everything we need it tucked right into these little drawers.
I've organized the drawers by keeping themes together. For example we have a "Play Dough Drawer" a "Construction Paper Drawer" and a "Collage Drawer." That way whenever we have a project to work on we just pull out a table. Above you can see my son digging into our cornstarch packing peanuts and they will stick together. You can see my daughter made me a bouquet of flowers above)

When my kids are finished with a craft I put them in "The Keeper Box". Not everything goes into the keeper box.....sigh. But the ones that really show the emerging talent and artistic expression of my children usually make it in there. (seriously, if I kept everything my kids made I'd be unable to share any tips on organizing, because I'd be buried under a pile somwhere). My goal is to have One Large Rubbermaid of childhood crafts for each of them by the time they are ready to flee the nest. (I'm not talking about the larger crafts or structures that we keep, but the smaller paper crafts, paintings, drawings, collages and such like that. If I can keep it to that size I'll be a happy Mom.)
