Step 1 Draw the outline shape for your hat. This is just freehand but if you need you can find lots of template online.
Step 4 Sprinkle glitter over the glue!
Step 5 If you don't like to work with glitter you can use paint, or even gold cording, yarn, or a different color construction paper.
Step 3 Run a line o glue along the top edge of each piece of the hat.
Step 6 Consider making one part of the hat with a special star or something. Gold foil stickers would look great on these!
Step 7 Set the pieces of your hat aside to dry.
Step 2 You need these of these shapes for your hat. If you want make them red, white and blue for a patriotic looking hat.
Step 8 When dry hold two pieces of the hat back to back and staple the edges.
Step 9 Go around the hat stapling the sides of the hat together. You can make it smaller or larger at this point to fit your child's head.
Try on your new tricorn hat and have fun celebrating President's Day!
