Step 1 Cut your Styrofoam ball in half so that it will fit flat against the table. We just used an old pair of scissors. (You can purchase half circles in the garden centers but they are a bit more expensive)
Step 2 Take your pipecleaners and wrap them around a pen or a pencil. Slide them off so they remain curled.

Step 3 Make quite a few different colored pipe cleaner curls. We cut ours in half to get the correct length.
Step 4 Start to fill up your anemone by poking the sharp end of the pipe cleaner into the Styrofoam ball.
Step 5 You can use all the same colors if you like or make yourself a creative "rainbow" anemone like my kids did.
"Sea Anemones" by Sulliven Wonderful photos and lots of information about these wonderful sea creatures. Children love to learn about these tide pool creatures! Read Inside this book.

All Done! Once you've finished, you can glue the anemone down to a heavy piece of cardboard or even start your own coral reef diorama.
