Step 1 Using your construction paper and a ruler, measure out a bunch of equal strips. (we used the long side of the paper, and the width of the ruler for the measurments.)
Step 2 Cut down each line so that you have a bunch of strips. Cut whatever colors you want in your project, you'll need about 5 strips per flower.
Step 3 Optional for Younger children. Using a hole puncher, make a hole at each end of the strips, and in the middle. This makes it easier for young fingers to work with.
Step 4 Using your pipe cleaner as the stem, poke it through the end of your first strip.
Step 5 Fold the strip over so that you can poke the pipe cleaner through the middle hole in the strip.
Step 6 Then fold it over again to poek the pipe cleaner through the final hole on that strip. It should form a figure eight shape.
Step 7 Continue to add your strips of paper to the pipe cleaner in this fashion. Do it so that your petals are spread out and not right on top of eachother.

Step 8 You can add in different colored strips, if you like, or keep them all the same color.

Step 9 For the final strip, If you want to write a message on it, loosely paper clip the center and write on top. For this strip, you want to thread the two ends first, then the center.

Step 10 Attach your button. You can use a regular button, or one with a loop on the back, doesn't matter. Bend the pipe clener backwards, and hide back inside the flower.
