"About Birds"
by Priscilla Belz Jenkins.

This is a beautifully
illustrated book of many of
the birds children are likely
to encounter.  A perfect
introduction to the world of
backyard birds.
Step 1
Get your birdseed ready by pouring some out on
your paper plate.
------------------
------------------
Bagel Bird Feeder
  • Bird Seed
  • Paper Plate
  • Peanut Butter
  • Bagel
  • String
  • Choose a birdseed
    that is small to make
    it easier to adhere to
    the peanut butter
  • If you don't have a
    stale bagel on hand
    try a pine cone!
  • What other kinds of animals might be
    attracted to your bird feeder?
  • How can you hang your feeder to ensure
    the birds get a bite?
  • How can we help support birds through
    the winter months?
Step 3
Spread on the peanut butter!
Step 4
Dip your bagel into the birdseed.  Press down
lightly so that it's all covered.
Finish Up!
Take your bagel bird
feeder outside and
hang on a tree
branch.  Try to find a
limb where the larger
animals won't get to
it very easy.
