Crafts
Step 1
Gather your resources!  Go on a
nature walk and pretend your a
Mommy bird in search of good things
to build your nest with.  We choose
twigs, paper scraps, leaves, string,
napkins and Q-tips.
  • What kinds of birds are native to
    your area?
  • What types of trees are in your
    neighborhood?
  • What are some rules we should
    have with wildlife we find?
  • On what day did God create the
    birds of the sky?
Step 2
Begin by building the base of your
nest.  Talk with your child about how
Mommy birds make a nest without
ever being taught.  (God gave them
the ability as baby birds to look at
their own nest and know what to do
when they were ready for their own
nest)
Step 3
After getting the base of your nest
set up, begin building the walls, and
adding in the different materials that
you've found.
All Done!
Once you've got your bird's nest
assembled how you like it, give it a
test.  Put some small cotton balls
inside and pretend they're baby
birds.
