Bird Seed Nest
Craft
What fun to work with
birdseed for a medium!
Children can make nests from
glue then sprinkle over them
with birdseed.  These look
fantastic as decorations!

Step 1
Drizzle your glue onto the bottom
portion of your brown construction
paper.  Make lots of squiggles in the
shape of a birds nest.
  • What kinds of birds are native
    to your area?
  • What kinds of seeds are in the
    birdseed mixture?
  • How can we help support birds
    through the winter months?
Step 2
Cover the glue by sprinkling the
birdseed over it.  Be careful not to
smoosh the glue, just lightly cover it
until it sticks.
Step 3
Carefully pour the excess seeds
onto a paper plate.  What remains
is your birds nest.
All Done!
Cut out a bird shape and place
inside your nest.  Decorate the
bird to represent a bird you've
seen in your own backyard.  (We
printed the template for this
bird
shape from here)
