For our Kindergarten year, our classroom schedule (if you can even call it that) was very
relaxed and child led.  We're not quite "Unschoolers" because we do keep a bit of a
schedule and I have things planned out for what I want my children to accomplish, but we're
not so strictly organized that our whole plan falls apart if we don't stick to a tight routine.
About Our Learning Cards
First of all, I guess I better explain the thought process behind these cards.  My daughter (who
is currently 6, likes to lead her own learning.  Now, when I say that I mean that she really
likes to be in control of what we learn for the day, and when she is in charge of picking out
the daily activities, she is much more receptive to the tasks we have to complete.

I designed these cards around our curriculum, and the books that I have on my own shelf.  I
sat down and decided what it was I wanted to work on for the year, Main Categories, and
Sub-Categories of those.  I chose 8 different Main Categories, each with three sub-categories.
Daily Schedule

We have school 4 days a week, Monday through Thursday. Since we have a total of 24
learning cards, that means we try to complete 6 each school day.  (Sometimes we get all six
done, sometimes we save one for the next day...depending on the mood of our homeschool)

Anyway, every morning I set out all the cards for my daughter to choose from.  She get's to
pick the six things that she wants to do that day, and we place them up on top of our pocket
calendar so she remembers what to expect that day.
We laminated ours to keep them lasting a while, and I store them with a binder clip to keep
them together and organized.  The ones that are not in use, I store in the velcro pocket on the
back of the pocket calendar. (Our pocket calendar by the way, is one of my most favorite
homeschool purchases...it's quite versatile and very sturdy!)

Anyway, if you'd like to print your own set of these cards, I've made them into PDF files that
you can download below!  Or if you use this idea to make your own learning cards, please
share with us what you've done, we'd love to post a photo or description of your learning
cards or provide a link to your blog or website.
