Star Student Scratch-It's
Okay, I admit it.
Sometimes the best way to get your kids to
complete their school work is to have some
sort of reward or goal at the end of the tunnel.
(I know some people call it bribery, but I like
to think of it as Positive
Reinforcement.....which  of course is way
more effective them Negative anyway, I
wanted to give my kids a really special award
that they can earn at the end of each month.
Assembly:
I wish I could say that this amazing Scratch-it idea is from my own craftiness, but alas I must
give all the credit to
"ArtMind" who shares this photo tutorial on how to put these little
buggers together and make them "Scratchable"

However, I do have a few tips and suggestions:

Second, For these cards I used a black star, so I used black metallic paint to blend it in.  If
you make your own design, I'd suggest making a thick boarder around the shape you'd like
your scratchable part to be.  (you'll see that the star is very thick right....that's on
purpose....I'm not just wasting your printer ink.  :)

So I did the math and if they have 90% good
behavior for the month (which we keep track of
out a Star Student Scratch-it card.  This is quite
an honor at our house, not only is it fun to
scratch of the little stars, but in doing so it will
reveal a fun prize that they get to take from the
goodie bag.
you can print up and use at your house too!
The first set is the same ones that I used,
and it has various prizes written in the stars
already.  (These are various things you can
pick up at the dollar store, and the biggest
prize is a Pizza Party)  Or if you'd like to add
in your own prizes I've made a blank set as
well.
