“Is it a Fruit or Is it a Vegetable Quiz”
Tomato’s really confuse me, and there is always that Smart-y-Pants that reminds me which food group Corn Really belongs too…..
You know, just for my information and all.
But….I think I’ve got this one figured out and
I’m pretty sure that a Zucchini is a Vegetable……
At least when it’s in the hands of a little 3 year old boy.
Just check out the size of that thing!
And he’s got a grin to match.
ha ha, zucchini is a fruit. So is a tomato. You know, just for your information and all. I’m sure sure if you really don’t know this, because you can be that way, but anything that has seeds in it is a fruit because the fruit is a seed container. {grin}

You know, I’ve grown to HATE those “it’s a fruit, no it’s a VEGETABLE questions. Here’s what I’ve found:
If you are part of the scientific community, any part of a plant that holds the seeds is a fruit. The scientific community also does not recognize the word vegetable. Vegetation is the closest and refers to plants in general.
If you are part of the culinary community, if it’s used in a typical manner that a vegetable is used, it’s a vegetable. Fruits are typically sweet.
The problem here is that most people get just a little bit of information and run with it.
And, let’s not forget, it’s just a classification–which tend to change from time to time. For intstance, before the late 1800′s-early1900′s, we used Aristotle’s classification of animals which included bats, birds, and insects into the same class and anything that lives in the water as fish.
Also, at one time the brontosaurus and apatosaurus were considered two different animals.
BUT, we people and our attempts to be in the know. Sheesh. :)
Anyway, as you’ll probably use the zucchini as a vegetable, feel free to call it that.
