Candle Holders

October 5, 2009

So today I made some new ribbons for my candle centerpiece. Some of you might remember a while back when I posted the first set of them on Lapbook Lessons (before I had my own “Craft” blog)

Here are the old ones:

And here is how I updated them for Fall:

Here are the instructions for how to make your own. This is not my design, it was shared by our craft coordinator at my local mom’s group.

Materials:
3 yards of Ribbon (Use Wired 2.5″ wide……Walmart, Usually one roll is 9feet, so one roll is perfect)
5 votives (check Walmart for a 12 pack for $5…you can make two!)
Glue Gun Or sewing supplies

Step 1: Take the 9 feet off the entire roll of ribbon. Cut into half and line up the ribbons one on top of the other.

Step 2: Pin in the middle, measure two inches from the pin on each side.

Step 3: Hot glue (or sew) the ribbons together at the 2 inch marks. This is the middle pocket.

Step 4:
Then measure two more pockets on each side of the middle (You’ll have 5 pockets all together) You’lll measure 4 inches from the glue line, and that is where you put another glue line.

Step 5
: After you have your five pockets, put your votives in them, and tie bows on either end.

If you make a set, leave me a link, I’d love to see how they turn out!

Blessings,
